Meet Kate
Anxiety and Trauma Therapist
in Denver & throughout Colorado
Hi there!
I’m Kate, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado.
I help adults in Colorado who feel anxious and overwhelmed by past trauma or difficult relationships. Through a blend of trauma-informed therapy and IFS-informed EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), I support my clients in healing from past experiences, building deeper connections with themselves, and moving forward with confidence.
If you feel like you’ve been stuck in survival mode for too long or find it hard to make lasting change, you’re not alone.
It’s not your fault that things feel hard right now. AND I believe you have the power to heal.
It all starts with a safe, supportive space—where we can explore your experiences, gently shift old patterns, and help you feel more grounded, less overwhelmed, and clear about what matters most to you.
You’re tired of feeling stuck.
You know that there’s more to life than battling anxiety, trauma, or relationship struggles.
You want to move forward, but the weight of your past is holding you back.
You need someone who understands, someone who can guide you through the healing process with kindness and compassion.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is grounded in a belief that true healing comes from integrating the mind and body.
While talk therapy is important, it’s often not enough to truly heal the nervous system, which holds trauma in ways that aren’t always accessible through words alone.
That’s why I weave EMDR, polyvagal theory, and IFS-informed parts work into the therapy process. These approaches help gently access and tend to the places where trauma is held in the body, allowing you to release old emotional wounds and begin to feel more regulated, safe, and connected.
I often say to my clients, “You have to feel to heal.” It’s human nature to want to avoid pain—but in therapy, we create a safe space to turn toward what’s been difficult, for a little while, with care and intention. That choice—to face what’s been painful with support—can be the beginning of meaningful healing.
Healing takes time. It’s not about pushing through, but about moving at a pace that honors your capacity. Growth often happens just outside our comfort zone—but always with the ability to return to safety, to your window of tolerance. That balance is where transformation lives.
My approach is gentle, steady, and respectful of your timing. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you—stretching when you’re ready, and pausing when you need.
What’s a Therapy Session Like with Me?
Every session is shaped around you—your needs, your pace, and what feels supportive in the moment. While no two sessions are exactly the same, there are a few things you can expect.
In the beginning, we’ll take some time to get to know each other. I’ll invite you to share about your history and what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll explore your hopes for our work together, and if you’re not sure what your goals are yet, that’s completely okay. We can gently uncover them together.
If you already have a clear sense of what you’d like to work on, we’ll move toward those goals with care. We might explore past experiences, patterns, or relationships to better understand what’s showing up for you now—and I’ll offer grounding tools to help you stay connected, present, and supported along the way. In the session, we can practice exercises designed to calm and regulate your nervous system, so you can feel confident that you know how to regulate your emotions whenever needed. Everything we do is guided by your readiness and comfort.
Whether you’re brand new to therapy or returning after some time away, you’ll find that our space is one of warmth, safety, and non-judgment.
If opening up feels vulnerable or unfamiliar, I’ll meet you with compassion. There’s no pressure here—just an open invitation to go at a pace that feels right for you. More than anything, I want you to feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we’ll find the approaches and tools that best fit you.
I Believe in…
Compassion
Therapy can be hard work, but it should also be a compassionate and supportive experience. I’m here to meet you where you are—with care, curiosity, and without judgment. Together, we’ll create a space where you can safely explore difficult emotions at your own pace and do the deep work that leads to healing.
Self-compassion & Growth
Healing is about growing into a more grounded and connected version of yourself. I support you in cultivating self-compassion and self-acceptance as we gently explore the patterns that no longer serve you—and help you reconnect with your inner resilience.
Curiosity & Exploration
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. I use an experiential, collaborative approach that might include EMDR, parts work (IFS), somatic practices, and polyvagal techniques. We’ll stay open and explore what works best for you—gently, with intention.
Authencity
I believe in being real. I don’t hide behind clinical language or rigid professionalism—I show up as a genuine, grounded, and imperfect human being. Therapy should feel like a space where you’re truly seen and understood, and that begins with me being approachable, transparent, and present.
Mind-body Integration
Sometimes, you know you’re safe or worthy—but your body doesn’t feel it. That’s where mind-body integration comes in. Together, we’ll work toward aligning what you know intellectually with what you feel somatically, so your nervous system can begin to trust what your heart already knows.
A Social Justice Lens
I affirm all identities and practice from an anti-racist, equity-centered framework. This means creating a space where your lived experience—including the impact of systemic oppression—is acknowledged, respected, and held with care. You don’t have to leave any part of yourself at the door.
We may be a good fit if…
You feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you and are ready to try something different.
You know, deep down, that you’re a good person or that you’re safe—but your body doesn’t always believe it.
You are self-reflective and open to exploring deeper emotional work, even if vulnerability feels challenging.
You are committed to personal growth and creating meaningful change, even when the path feels hard.
You want to understand how your past experiences may be shaping your present—especially in your relationships, anxiety, or self-worth.
Let’s get started.
Healing is possible.
If you’re struggling with anxiety, trauma, or relationship issues, therapy isn’t about pushing you to change at a quick pace.
Through the therapy space, you’ll feel safe and supported as you uncover the root causes of your struggles. Together, we’ll work to reprocess past experiences, shift your nervous system out of survival mode, and build the tools you need to create lasting change.
Reconnect with yourself.
Rediscover your inner strength.
Experience a life more aligned with your true self.
If you’re ready to take the first step toward healing, I’d love to connect with you. Let’s work together to create a plan for your growth and transformation.
